Open Source Community Cookbook: From the Flames to the Frying Pan

We are less than 6 weeks out from moving into our new home and things like my cookbooks didn’t make it, so rather than run out purchase new ones I want to know your favorites.

So here is what I am asking-SEND ME YOUR FAVORITE RECIPES– and in return once they are all put together in a manageable format I’ll make it available for everyone as my way of saying thanks for contributing. Please email them to me or fill out the webform.

The table is more than a table at our house.  It is where conversations are shared both bitter and sweet.  It is where homework is often done, laughs are had, tears are shed and plans are made. It is where friends become family, and we share in meals of physical and emotional substance. Both in the preparing and sharing of meals it is a family affair and one that I would like to bring the open source communities—Communities that have so richly and unselfishly gathered around us to support us since the fire in so many ways— to our table through the recipes you choose to share with us.

So here is how the “Open Source Community Cookbook” or whatever name it ends up being called will be organized:

  • Appetizers
  • Soups and Salads
  • Main Dishes
  • Side Dishes
  • Desserts
  • Miscellaneous

To make it easier for me (and anyone else who would like to volunteer) to put the book together.  Please include the following information when emailing me.  Also you can also email me the link to a recipe as well.  Whatever is easier for you.

  • Name of Dish:
  • Name of Person Submitting Recipe:
  • Complete Ingredient List with quanities/amounts of each ingredient:
  • Instructions for Making the Dish:
  • Do you want to honor anyone (ie grandma, Aunt Sally or others): If so please include their name(s).
  • Also is there a memory or story you would like to share about this recipe? (ie, my grandma always made these cookies for me it was here special treat to me)
  • What Linux Distribution or Open Source Project are you using or associated with?

Thanks in advance! I’ll keep the submission process open through the end of April 2011.

p.s. if you have the talent for creating logos and art and would like to create the cover image for this cookbook please drop me an email or comment here as I’ll need all the help I can get with that part of this project. (I am not an artist nor do I play one on TV)
